Transitional Rio Grande Blanket

$3,500

43” x 93”
ca. 1880’s

Collected in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado, this vibrant example of an “aniline Brazilwood” style blanket features an electrifying combination of color and design devices; checkerboard, compound beaded bands, ticking, “culebra bands”, etc.

Intact with no holes or loss, but appears to have once been machine washed and dried.
