Territorial Writing Desk

From the Peñasco area, this simple portable desk opens and has a quill holder inside. There are a decorative cameo-like designs on both sides. The desk, constructed with milled lumber, used detailed molding for trim and to create the decorative appliqué piece on the front; these elements combined with the red paint are all hallmarks fo the American Territorial Period furniture style.
