Saltillo inspired serrated netted diamond layout with cloud columns.

Raveled and hand spun red field with plied yellow and hand spun white, purple, and indigo yarns with the balance of the blue woven with Germantown yarn. Minor quantities of raveled red and cochineal dyed 3-ply yarn.

The mixture of both indigo and plied blue yarns and incidence of numerous sources of red yarns reflect the time period (later 1870’s) in which this blanket was woven.
