Field collected in San Antonio, Colorado in the extreme southwestern part of the San Luis Valley. This striking and imaginative example features bold use of pink and natural dark grey yarns. Woven on cotton string warp. Strong overall condition.

Pieces like this represent a “swan song” of blanket weaving in the Hispanic tradition and likely dates to the latter 1890’s.
